About Our Methodology
The True Reputation Score is a comprehensive 0-100 rating that aggregates multiple data sources to give you a single, trustworthy measure of a local business's reputation.
How It Works
We collect ratings and reviews from Google, the Better Business Bureau, Yelp, and social media. Each source is normalized to a 0-5 scale so they can be compared fairly.
Our AI then analyzes the actual text of reviews to produce a sentiment score that goes beyond simple star ratings, and we factor in how recent the reviews are.
Each factor is weighted, summed, and scaled to produce a final score from 0 to 100.
Scoring Factors
BBB Accreditation
Better Business Bureau letter grade (A+ to F) and complaint history. Requires real vetting and complaint resolution.
Credentials
Verified Florida DOH license status, board actions, and specialty certifications.
Sentiment Analysis
AI-powered analysis of actual review text to detect genuine positive or negative sentiment beyond simple star ratings.
Yelp Rating
Average star rating from Yelp reviews. Yelp aggressively filters fake reviews, making it a stronger trust signal.
Google Rating
Average star rating from Google reviews.
Review Recency
How recently the business has received reviews. Fresh reviews indicate an active, engaged practice.
Social Media
Presence and ratings from social media platforms like Facebook.
Review Volume
Total number of reviews across platforms, with diminishing returns to prevent gaming.
Community Mentions
Organic mentions and sentiment from community forums like Reddit. Genuinely hard to fake.
Verified Reviews
Email-verified reviews submitted directly on our platform. These go through fraud detection before being factored into the score.
Cross-Platform Trust
Presence across multiple review platforms. Businesses with ratings on Google, Yelp, Facebook, and BBB earn more trust.
